The Middle East Institute, in partnership with the Embassy of Morocco and the Moroccan American Cultural Center, presented “Sounds of Morocco,” the first event of the 2008 MEI Summer Garden Series. Over 200 guests joined us as we celebrated the uniquely diverse music, food, and art of Morocco. The evening featured an eclectic blend of traditional and modern music—Rai, Gnawa, Isawa, and much more. Moroccan food, henna, and art were showcased.
